The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is collaborating with public health and agriculture officials in Missouri, other states, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to investigate an ongoing outbreak of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli). Investigations have identified contaminated romaine lettuce as the likely source of the outbreak.
